Needed a break badly from all the work and rut from the office. Thought of a beach getaway so decided on Phuket. Thought of a diving location there and similan came to mind. Thought of what we wanted to achieve during the dive and advance course came to mind. One thing led to another and before we knew it we were there in less than 4 weeks.

We ended up staying in khao lak (a really small and quiet town) for 5 days where we did 6 dives over 3 days with wicked diving (i highly recommend them). We had 3 different divemasters over the 3 days (Terese from Sweden, Local Thai Mr Tuk and David from Denmark) which added more colors and fun to our trip i felt. Thanks! The other 2 days were spend on our rented scooter buzzing up and down the linear highway, ate lots of thai food, did an elephant ride up the hill and visited the tsunami memorial sites.

After the 5 days in Khao Lak we moved south to phuket and we stayed for 2 days in a quaint resort called sugar palm grand hill. Our room had direct pool access from our balcony which made A* really thrilled. It was a good end to our trip where we balanced it with the more happening atmosphere of phuket which were somewhat touristy for most adventure junkie. Anyhow we had some good food, beach, sight seeing and lots of massages while we were here.

Phuket & Khao Lak are fun and i will come back again for more diving, massags and thai food.

Finally after so so long i get to check off my one of the item on my “Top 10 Must Do List”. I will share the list later in another post.
Over the last weekend i went up north with a bunch of friends & new friends to get ourselves on a weekend get away in Tioman Island. During the stay there together with A*, we got ourselves PADI certified as open water divers. The experience was superb and the atmosphere was mostly fun.
We did a pool session followed by 2 dives on saturday where we practiced some basic drills. Then another 2 dives on the next day. The last dive was a leisure one at a dive site called Labas where the marine life was more brilliant. Now i am planning to do my advance open water dive so i can dive deeper to 30m. Then will i be able to explore more dive sites to see the beauty of nature deep below.
